Site Selection Process
The site of the World Science Fiction Convention (“Worldcon”) is determined two years in advance by a vote of the current Worldcon’s membership. To vote in the Site Selection for Worldcon 2019, you must be Full Attending, “First Worldcon”, Youth, or Supporting Member of Worldcon 75 and pay the Advance Supporting Membership fee of €40. This process also makes you a Supporting Member of the winning bid’s convention.
Postal voting in Site Selection for Worldcon in 2019 has closed. Now, voting is only possible on site at Worldcon 75. (This includes printing a mail-in ballot (see links below), filling it out, and asking someone to hand deliver it to the voting desk at the convention. You must then either have paid the Advance Supporting Membership fee online per the instructions below or have provided the person who delivers the ballot with adequate funds to pay for you. This can be a US check for $40, payable to ‘77th Worldcon’.)
Although the WSFS Constitution allows electronic Site Selection balloting, Worldcon 75 has for several reasons decided opt out of this. The Site Selection Administrator and staff will, per the Constitution, be accepting only paper ballots either completed on site or hand delivered, and will not accept ballots via any electronic means.
To pay your Advance Supporting Membership fee online, sign in to our member services site at members.worldcon.fi and select “Payments” from the main menu available from the top left. If you are signed in, this direct link will also take you there.
