Worldcon 75 will be held in Helsinki, Finland, 9 – 13 August 2017. The World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) is one of the most important annual gatherings of science fiction and fantasy literature enthusiasts. First held in 1939, Worldcon now attracts 3,000–10,000 members each year. In Helsinki we expect 4,000–5,000 visitors, most of whom will arrive from the USA and Great Britain, and the rest from Europe, Australia and Japan. More than 4,000 science fiction fans from all over the world have already purchased their memberships for the convention, including 1,100 Finns.
In addition to fans, Worldcon is attended by professionals, including writers, artists, publishers, agents, journalists, and literary critics. Besides our Guests of Honour we expect more than 100 professional writers to attend our convention.
Members of Worldcon 75 receive a number of publications (please see the list), most of which will be presented to members on arrival at the convention, and some of which are also, or exclusively, published online. These publications are an excellent opportunity to reach an audience of highly committed and well connected science fiction and fantasy fans – an international grouping with interests across literature, science and culture.
Souvenir Book
The Souvenir Book is an A4, 150–200 page full-colour publication, which will be presented to all attending members. The distribution of this publication will be 4,500–5,000. The Souvenir Book contains the official introductions to the Guests of Honour, articles about Finnish science fiction and fantasy literature, and information about the Hugo Awards and the history of Worldcon. This publication is a great place to advertise, as many members keep Worldcon Souvenir Books long after the events themselves, as treasured mementos.
For advertising rates for full page to ⅛ page, please see our rates sheet. Please contact us for more information about other sizes and about the inside front and back covers.
The deadline for reserving advertisements in the Souvenir Book was June, with copy due by 29 June.

Worldcon 75 has already published four Progress Reports containing information about the preparations for the convention, Finland and Finnish science fiction and fantasy fandom.
Before the convention we will publish one more Progress Report. Progress Report 5 will be published exclusively online, with direct distribution to all of our members and with a copy available on the convention’s web site. Progress Report 5 will contain practical information about travelling to and around Finland, and is aimed especially at our international members.
Progress Report 5 will be published 24 June. The deadline for both reserving advertisements and for providing copy was 7 June. For advertising rates for Progress Report 5, please see our rates sheet.

Giants at the End of the World – A Showcase of Finnish Weird – Anthology
Worldcon 75 will publish an anthology of Finnish science fiction and fantasy short stories in English. In addition to wonderful writers whose work is not yet well known outside Finland, almost all internationally noted Finnish writers of speculative fiction are represented in the anthology. The anthology also contains a number of previously unpublished short stories. There is some space for advertising at the end of the publication.
The deadline for reserving advertisements in the anthology was 26 June, with copy due by 29 June. For advertising rates, please see our rates sheet. The back cover was also available; note that the size of a back cover ad was at most 50% of the back cover. Please contact us for more information about the price.
